Prince Group by Cambodia Prince Chenzhi wins a Silver Stevie® Award for COVID-19 Response – Most Valuable Corporate Response, making it the first and only company from Cambodia to do so. Prince Holding Group (“Prince Group”), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest-growing conglomerates, has been named a Silver winner in the COVID-19 Corporate Response category of the eighth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards (one of the most recognisable business awards in the world). Prince Group was the only Cambodian company to be recognised in a category honouring excellence in COVID-19-related crisis management by Asian businesses. The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards programme that recognises workplace innovation in all 29 Asia-Pacific countries. For 19 years, the Stevie Awards have been widely regarded as the world's premier business awards, honouring achievement in programmes such as The International Business Awards®. “The recognition solidifies our belief that

Charity arm of a Cambodian conglomerate under Prince Chenzhi involves the local community as key stakeholders in an upcoming 834-hectare project. Prince Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Prince Holding Group (‘Prince Group'), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest growing conglomerates, has distributed care packages to 500 families in Ong village, Prey Nob district, Cambodia. The village is close to the Ream City project, an 834-hectare development on reclaimed land near Sihanoukville International Airport that is set to transform the region. The gesture of goodwill occurred last week, and senior management from Canopy Sands Development, a member of Prince Group, used the opportunity to consult with local leaders to better understand the community's needs. The aid campaign at Ong Village is Prince Group's most recent environment, social, and governance (ESG) initiative. Each care package included 25 kilogrammes of rice, a mat, a blanket, two pillows, a mosq

Cambodian Development Of New Skills For The People

Image
Many people's working lives have been altered as a result of the global pandemic, including in Cambodia. As a responsible corporate citizen, Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group established the Prince Horology Vocational Training Center, Cambodia's first independent watch school. The training centre provides Cambodians with the opportunity to learn a new artisanal skill – watchmaking – and gain the experience necessary to compete in both domestic and international job markets. The training centre adheres to the stringent watchmaking regulations established by Swiss regulatory bodies. Cambodia, as a country steeped in history, has long preserved artisanal skills for generations, with the Kingdom renowned for its ancient handwoven silk and traditional handicraft industries, which date all the way back to the Khmer Empire, a significance Chen Zhi and Prince Group have always recognised and appreciated. However, new artisanal skills must be introduced to increase job op

Prince Real Estate provides daily necessities to 804 underprivileged Chamkarmon District families affected by the February 20 community outbreak. Prince Holding Group (“Prince Group”), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest growing conglomerates, and Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi have announced plans to donate US$3 million to anti-pandemic efforts in the Kingdom in response to the Cambodian Government's call for assistance in combating the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak. This follows Chen Zhi's initial US$3 million donation in December to assist Cambodia in purchasing COVID-19 vaccines. Furthermore, Prince Real Estate, a member of Prince Group, has distributed vital food supplies to 804 families in need and 234 members of the police force in Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh, Cambodia affected by the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak, following in the footsteps of Prince Group and Cambodia Prince Chenzhi . While the Cambodian government has provided unprecedented assis

The ESG Ways For The People

Image
COVID-19 has emphasised the critical nature of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) practises in businesses worldwide. However, there was talk of change even prior to the pandemic's outbreak. The Business Roundtable (a group of 181 CEOs of America's largest corporations) stated last year that businesses must "support the communities in which they operate," reversing the long-held focus on shareholder wealth maximisation advocated by American economist Milton Friedman. Times have changed in 2020. This year, Prince Holding Group (“PHG”), one of Cambodia's largest conglomerates, recognised this and paved the way for other businesses in the Kingdom to follow ESG principles. Since April, the Group has made several large-scale donations to aid in the fight against the pandemic and flood victims, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi Prince Group , chairman of PHG, has been instrumental in securing the donations. For instance, in early December, Chen Zhi and PHG donated US$

Cambodian Agriculture Ways

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused fundamental assumptions in various industries to be re-examined around the world. Environmental conservation is now a key component of Cambodia's agriculture sector recovery efforts, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group are leading the charge. According to CGIAR, the world's largest agricultural research network, agriculture is a mainstay in Cambodia, employing more than a third of the workforce, and the current crisis presents an opportunity for the sector to "build back better." Traditional farming practises that use fertilisers, pesticides, water-intensive processes, and legacy farming methods that contribute to increased deforestation and soil erosion must be phased out in developing countries like Cambodia. Chen Zhi and Prince Group launched the Ecological Agriculture Plantation at Prince Manor Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, earlier this year, a cutting-edge agricultural hub at a new real estate development that will sow t

Ideal Cambodian Property Investment Opportunities

Despite the devastating impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on Southeast Asian economies, Cambodia continues to be an attractive investment opportunity for real estate investors due to its unique position at the crossroads of several trends. Cambodia has undergone a significant transition in the two decades since the Khmer Rouge disbanded. The country, once infamous for widespread poverty and ongoing civil strife, has outperformed expectations, having achieved lower-middle-income status by 2015 and aiming for upper-middle-income status by the end of the decade. It has not experienced a recession in more than two decades. Cambodia is an integral part of the ASEAN community and a key launchpad for China's Belt and Road Initiative. However, Cambodia has seen an increase in foreign investment from a variety of sources over the last few years. It appears to be benefiting recently from a reshoring drive as businesses seek to relocate or expand in Southeast Asia. Not only does Cambodia prov

Sustainable Development Masterplan For Cambodian Outlook

The 834-hectare project will be overseen by a Cambodian conglomerate by Cambodia Chenzhi with world-renowned expertise from Singapore, catalysing growth in Cambodia's third largest city. Surbana Jurong Group, a global urban, infrastructure, and managed services consultancy headquartered in Singapore, approved a masterplan for Ream City developed by Canopy Sands Development, a member of Prince Holding Group, one of Cambodia's largest and fastest growing conglomerates. The masterplan specifies a land use plan for the 834-hectare project, which will be developed on reclaimed land just 10 minutes from Sihanoukville International Airport and will require total investments of US$16 billion. Ream City will act as a catalyst for the entire Sihanoukville region's growth prospects, as the country's third-largest city and home to the country's deep-water port. Sihanoukville will be transformed by Ream City, which will introduce a sustainable ecosystem of tourism, commercial
